Izzy Stone, a top Secret Service agent, is in charge of a presidential visit to Paris. Without warning, a powerful French magistrate charges the U.S. President with war crimes and crimes against humanity after an American counterterrorist strike goes awry. Now Izzy finds herself in a bloody, desperate race to save POTUS from certain death. A lethal cat and mouse chase unfolds across the City of Lights as Izzy uses her knowledge of Paris' ancient catacombs, a buried chateau fort and the great Louvre to elude their pursuers. As France and the U.S. approach an unthinkable military confrontation and the world's powers move toward DEFCON ONE, only Izzy can prevent a global catastrophe.

The Paris Plot eBook Joseph Aragon

The thriller hits very close to home on several fronts — Capital politics, eroding international relations, and ... perhaps best of all ... intimate relationships with powerful people that are ethically and politically sensitive.

The careful, well-crafted build-up chock full of fascinating characters—devious, intrepid and unexpectedly poignant—eventually crests and then pitches forward at a speed that very nearly makes the paper pages heat up and burn. The ties that bind America and France are stretched and frayed to the point of unleashing an anarchy that would be difficult for both nations to survive.

And yet it all seems so plausible as foes of a decent, skillful American president set him up for a downfall that trembles with potentially tragic consequences even as it quenches the reader's thirst for drama, and teases for a confrontation that pits virtue against ideology.

Author Joseph Aragon clearly knows the territory and the gravity of global concerns. Insider knowledge of how decisions are made in high places, and a love for la Ville Lumière —the City of Lights—imbues this impressive debut with the luster of fresh blood and the glint of furtive romance.

The Paris Plot eBook Joseph Aragon Reviews

What happens when a French jurist issues an arrest warrant for the American President? Nonstop action, breathless suspense and imaginative chases through Paris' most mysterious historic sites! This book is a heartstopping rollicking great ride!
This is not only a fun fictional book to read but very relevant and almost factual given the current undertows of our national and international political environment. Almost factual because the author, Mr. Joe Aragon, writes with credibility given his real life experiences as a former special adviser to President Carter. Also, it's quite evident that Mr. Aragon knows his way around Paris. If you love Paris, you will enjoy this high tempo and suspenseful re-visit to the City of Love? Running around Paris reminded me of the Bourne Identity movie!
I have been to Paris and can visualize the places depicted in this novel. I was enthraled with this book. It was exciting, and I loved the vividness of the characters and places. This was a hard to it down book. I want more. LOVED IT!
Should be immediately made into a movie. Great action and character development. I am a woman of an age who would not be expected to choose a book like this, but couldn't put it down. The plot is incredibly timely and, like The DaVinci Code, creates great mental pictures of the action. I really look forward to another book.
this book is,consistant with todays polotics.""slick willie clintonov was not smart eniugh to pull off something like this but the camel jockey along with his friends might have been able pull it off. this book was very well written . I completely enjoyed it. I kept picturing blissful bliden and the camel jockey along with michelle mickey mouth conspiring to make this come true. from the ending, there cant be a sequel even though all the star players lived. this book was free on . it was a super good read. mp
I knew that a political thriller was in the works for Mr Aragon. Years of research by Joseph resulted in a well written book that is so pertinent to situations in today's world that you wonder how he was able to write a novel that could easily be based on headlines of the future. His character development probably found its footing in his years of working in the White House and his story line could only have been enhanced by his living in Paris for many years. Although a work of fiction, I am sure all the places described in the spellbinding chases actually exist, I know that the personality of the deranged government official is certainly possible. I enjoyed the read.
I recall people wondering how one of our great western novelists, Louis L'Amour, managed to write so many truly great stories of the west. Over 200 as I recall. The common answer was the he had actually lived the life he wrote about. He'd been a boxer, a soldier of fortune, a cowboy and general roustabout. It's easy when you know your subject that well. And while reading Joseph Aragon's work, it dawned on me that he is in the same mold. His work as a lawyer, political and legal advisor to the president of the United States and his life in Paris, rings through this entire work.

He knows of which he speaks. And this is not easy. France's laws bare little resemblance to those of the U.S. and most readers are likely to be surprised at the way Aragon has navigated that problem. He has taken his experience and woven it into an amazing thriller that will remain with readers for some time to come. Although this is his first novel, I am fan and look forward to his next work.
