What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won't let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there's someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I'd never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I'll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can't be what she needs, so why can't I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

Gah! Fueled! Gah!! Quack!

So, that was pretty much the only words I had at the end of Fueled. When you read it you will understand the Quack thing (which I thought was HILARIOUS btw!). I was not thrilled with Colton in Driven (understand of the year!). K. Bromberg promised me I would like him more if I kept reading the series. She was right, I do like Colton more, but man he does not make it easy to like him!!! You really do get a better understanding of his life growing up and the abuse he endured. It does make you understand why he acts the way he does. However, understanding it and accepting it are two different things. His behavior is immature and frustrating. Yes, he experienced terrible trauma in his childhood. I still wanted him to handle adulthood with a bit more maturity! Needless to say when Rylee was only yelling "Quack" at him, I realized that they are both super immature (however, I still think she is hilarious!). Talk about major angst! These two just could not get on the same page for longer than a quick minute. But when they are on the same page? Its hot.

I must say I was a little disappointed with Haddie at times. I felt like she was pushing Rylee to forgive something that she was obviously upset about. I wanted someone to be on Rylee's side and while I understand Haddie's reasons, I wanted her to be a more supportive friend. It just seemed like everyone was telling Rylee she needed to be the bigger person. Yes, she did, but how is that fair to her to always be the one who has to fight for the relationship?!? He should fight for her as hard as she fights for him and that didn't happen (usually).

And the ending?!?! GRRRRR!!! Darn you K. Bromberg! Seriously though, she is the master of the perfectly timed cliffhanger! Its both incredibly frustrating and super amazing. I am glad I was not reading these books as they were released because I would have died.

Fueled The Driven Series Book 2 edition by K Bromberg Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This book started right where Driven ended and I was blown away. I loved that we get chapters in Colton's pov. The struggle and pain he's going through is like a huge weight on your heart. I was so shocked to learn about his deeply coveted secrets and his fear of Riley finding out. But what I loved even more is the fact that she didn't run when he tried to push her away, she stood up to him and gave him what he needed despite how he shuts down that part of himself. Getting to learn more about Colton's past and how heavy it still weighs on him is what made this book so completely amazing. I enjoyed probably 70% of this book.

What I didn't like about this book is that Riley turned into a teenage drama queen the last 30% of the book. She of course jumps to certain conclusions and acts all kinds of irrational. Not saying that Colton is innocent, but I lost a lot of respect I had for Riley in Driven by her acting childish and immature in this book at the end.

I still loved this book and if not for the last part of this book it would have gotten 5 stars and totally surpassed Driven in my book. But the end had my heart racing and now I'm dying to read the next book. Kristy is killing me with this series and I love every minute of it.
Wow. Just wow. This book is phenomenal. It has every single emotion and it just grabs ahold and doesn’t let go from the very start. The first book was really good but this one was better I think. I preferred it.

I preferred the relationship strife in this one. I’m not sure that you ever know which way is up but you can’t stop routing for them to be together. They just have to find a way back to each other, am I right?!?

I mean how perfect is it that she works with boys from horrible abuse situations and he can’t escape his demons. He can’t even tell any one about them. I love that she can be his light in a sea of darkness and the blur.

I love the stories of the boys in the story. I like how they are a part of everything and I found myself routing for them too! I love how they are woven into a full story and it isn’t ever too much. I want to hear about them. I want to know how they are doing.

The last third of this book was physically painful for me. I had tears in my eyes numerous times and felt that pang of pain in my heart for all the crap they were putting each other through. I mean, what was it all for anyway?

I cannot review this anymore. I need to get back to the story!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Read it!!
Rylee, Rylee, Rylee... She was a total mess. How can this author make a character so insecure? She is overly insecure about everything to the point of being obnoxious. Everyone in the book is constantly reassuring her about everything. It annoying. She will say things that make it appear like she has it together. Then, her inner thoughts after is just crazy. Is the writer insecure about everything? Does she know someone who is overly insecure because Rylee's insecurities are not romantic. How is Rylee a counselor? She acts like she does not even understand or can deal with Colton's stuff. Yes, Colton is a mess, but he told her he was a mess and would hurt her. Yet, she continues to push him for emotional connections which (as a counselor) she should understand how to navigate around his issues if she accepts his issues and know he needs to work through them. Rylee chose to be with Colton and his baggage, but it does not mean she needs to be his doormat. She can be their for him and help motivate him to do better, but it feels like she is so caught up in her own insecurities that she just can't do it. Colton seems like he counselors her more than she does for him. It seems like she is more of a mess than Colton. These characters don't seem well thought out. I keep wishing and hoping Rylee will get a backbone. She has potential but the writer does not take her character to the next level. I'm not finished the book. I'm almost finished, but it is time for Colton to grow up and deal with his Sh@@. I wanted to hear more of Colton's pov and less of Rylee's. She is just annoying. I thing if she have split the pov's up between the characters I may have given this a better rating. Maybe?? However, I do find the story interesting even though (like the first book Driven) is another version of 50 Shades of Gray. Rylee is a worst than Anna. She is Anna on steroids.
