However, with the help of her widowed father, her Border collie, Roger, and an unlikely friendship with a special education girl, she survives middle school and an almost fatal climb attempt on one of Colorado’s scariest mountains.
This book is appropriate for middle readers, ages 9 to 14, and can be enjoyed by boys and girls alike. This book is divided into two sections. The first part (The Numbers Game) largely focuses on the social and emotional issues of adolescent gifted girls. The second part (Fourteener Girl) takes place mostly in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is a high-altitude adventure.
